The Best Buffalo Springfield post ever

Shut up. Today we feature Buffalo Springfield....they made some great music,quite a few years ahead of their time, and were a favorite of my late Father's.....Neil Young, Stepeh Stills, Richie Furay, and Dewey martin were quite a colledction of taletn, and material like the creepy "Mr Soul" and the majestic (extended version of) "Bluebird" are all-time all-timers that need to be heard. This may not be the normal head-banging stuff I put up here, but it is some damn rocking good stuff, stuff that deserves to be heard.

The debut ("Buffalo Springfield") contains Stills' "For What It's Worth" an not a whole lot else....they didn't hit their stride until album #2 ("Buffalo Springfield Again"), which is a classic contining "Hung Upside Down", "Mr. Soul", and the less than perfect version of "Bluebird"....those two albums basically were there career, but as so often is the case, we need to look a bit deeper to fid the good stuff. They released "Last Time Around" as  acontract filler, and it sounds like one.

So, what else we got? A four disc set which attempts to encapsulate the entire career? Lotta goos stuff on there, alos a good bit of overlap, but a fan wouldn't want to be without it. A good set of ELektra Demos, worth hearing, and "Rare and Live" which contains a BUNCH of long/extended versions of "Bluebird", pick your facorite and roll with it.........

These guys were a fine band....I'm not big on the "country-tinged" rock as you may have noticed, but I alway enjoyed the best work of Buffalo Springfield.....good stuff. Neil Yong at his earliest, can't be a bad thing, and those tripped out versions of "Bluebird"....well, they make life worth living sometimes. Not exacly the kind of thing I often post, but as a favorite of my Dad's and also a band that I have enjoyed a good bit over the years, why the hell not?
